The major conflict in the autobiography Catch Me If You Can, is man vs. society. At a young age of 16, posing first as a 26 year old pilot, Frank was able to take on society. It was him against the world and he was winning for about 5 years. As a result he "was a millionaire twice over and half again" and he "stole every nickel of it." (p.4) Frank Abagnale admits "I was an impostor, one of the most wanted criminals on four continents, and at the moment I was doing my thing, putting a super hype on some nice people." (p.4) This is an example of how his conflict involved him battling society.

This conflict arose when after Frank Abagnale’s parents got divorced. He explained, "I simply wasn’t making enough bread to pay for my cake. I needed a way to juggle my finances." (p.12) Basically, Abagnale needed money which established this conflict. It was developed through his escalating crimes until he was "one of the most wanted criminals on four continents."

This conflict was attempted to be resolved when Frank Abagnale was caught. He was put in a harsh jail in Spain and then softer ones in Paris, Sweden, and Italy. Then he was sent to the United States. Eventually he became part of the FBI, catching clever criminals like himself.
